[Maine-birds] Bangor: Green Heron, Sora & Brown Thrashers

At Essex Trails today a GREEN HERON was hunting in the first marshy area to the right of the trail.    Also present was a SORA along the Watchmaker St. side of the marsh.  FOY Common Yellowthroat & Redstart in the same area.

There were also at least 5 BROWN THRASHERS at Saxl Park late yesterday.   None were seen this time but all were actively calling (relentless doubled imitations including calls of Bobolink and many other species).    It seemed like a singing competition, and they were mostly in the field to the right of the parking lot & especially the old orchard beyond the wire fence.  I'm wondering if Saxl might be a breeding spot?     Seems like good habitat for Brown Thrashers.. so many tangles, vines, etc.
