While walking the triangle at Essex Woods this afternoon I spied a pair of SOLITARY SANDPIPERS. They were probing the exposed muddy areas of the small marsh on the west side of the RR bed, just north of the sledding hill; AKA the "Sora Pond". Great views from about 10 yards away.
