Weather:
A hot one at Bradbury with abundant sunshine, and enough clouds for good hawk watching! The winds stayed very light from the SW turning variable as the count ended. Early on, fog was replaced by haze on the horizon. Another nice day to be at the summit.
Raptor Observations:
A total of 73 migrant raptors were recorded at the lookout. Bald Eagles were showing off today for the crowd, as well as Broad-winged and Red-tailed Hawks.
Non-raptor Observations:
40 species were observed at the summit today. Other migrants included: Blue Jay 38 Tree Swallow 18 Chimney Swift 15 American Goldfinch 11 Double-crested Cormorant 10 Ruby-throated Hummingbird 7 Brown-headed Cowbird 5 Solitary Sandpiper 4 Red-winged Blackbird 4 Barn Swallow 1 Common Loon 1
Predictions:
Tomorrow's weather at Bradbury is predicted to be considerably cloudy with a chance of stray showers. Winds will be E at 5-10 mph. Unfortunately, the predicted conditions are not optimal for hawk watching, but you never know what could fly by the lookout tomorrow!
