[Maine-birds] Global Big Day on MDI

Happy Global Big Day!

I had to be in my shop by 10:00, so I started birding at 5:00 and got in five hours of birding this morning. On this cold (it was 38 F at my house this morning) and gray day, I tallied 65 species. Highlights included:
  • 10 species of warbler at the MDI High School
  • FOY Eastern Kingbird and Magnolia Warbler at MDI Nigh School
  • Canada Warbler at MDI High School is always a highlight
  • 40+ Tree Swallows cavorting above Hamilton Pond were a treat, too
  • FOY Laughing Gulls in Somesville and Hulls Cove
  • American Bittern in the Northeast Creek wetlands
