We had an extremely birdy day despite only having a few hours to get outside. Highlights included:
Hirundo NWR- roadside Poplar Street
8 Nashville Warbler
3 Magnolia Warbler
1 Cape May Warbler
3 Northern Parula
1 Common Yellowthroat
1 Merlin
Witter Farm UMaine
4 American Pipit
4 Savannah Sparrow
1 Chestnut Sided Warbler
3 Blackburnian Warbler
Penjajwoc Marsh, Bangor- old railroad bed, access from Kittredge Road
5 Lesser Yellowlegs
5 Greater Yellowlegs
8 Wilson's Warbler
20 Yellow Warbler
5 Black-throated Green
25 Black-and-white Warbler (probably a conservative estimate)
5 Marsh Wren
2 Eastern Kingbird
2 American Bittern
The water is low making for some great shorebird habitat. Also warblers were everywhere, many more than listed here.
Enjoy the birding,
