[Maine-birds] Webber Pond, Bremen

the purple finch is back (male and female) at the feeder and balancing on the maple buds (wonderful colors!)--on sunday, a not quite mature bald eagle circled over the pond crying--he was very, very high, but watching him through binoculars, I could see that his head was tilted and he was looking down at the pond (almost felt his stare).  About an hour later, I heard the muttering of the geese change tone, and the eagle landed in one of my oak trees (right on the pond), he stayed for a while, turned his head so I saw his profile, and then moved to another branch--gripping a fish all the while.  a crow came down to bother him and he vanished while I was getting my camera (of course).
I am only seeing one loon and I am hoping that may mean that one is on the nest (?) --(don't know about the pair at the other end of the pond). I hear and see an osprey occasionally.
When I go out with the dog at night I have been hearing a woodcock (at last) and a barred owl.
All the usual birds are here--with a mallard pair wandering in and out a couple of times a day as well.
to my delight, two wood ducks ( a pair) seem to be  becoming regulars--they appear around 5PM--wander in the usual feeding spots--sometimes paralleling the mallards but not interacting. At times the female forages while the male balances on a log or the beached raft and watches (and poses).
