Allison and I saw three at rest on the exposed mudflats at Wharton Point around 5:00 PM today (Friday, May 1). At 5:30 they ascended high into the sky and disappeared from view to the north as if they were recommencing their migration. Wonder if they are birds heading north to one of the Newfoundland colonies?
