[Maine-birds] Birding on the Schoodic

Today we drove over to the Schoodic Peninsula and enjoyed a great birding morning!  At the interior parking lot for the Blueberry Trail we saw a late Orange-crowned Warbler as well as a Yellowthroat and a Northern Harrier.  A Tree Sparrow was along the road towards Schoodic Head.

We observed numerous Northern Gannets at Schoodic Point and Blueberry Hill along with a Red-throated Loon.  Other nice observations were Ruffed Grouse along the road near the new campground.  We looked in several spots for the Townsend's Solitaire but no luck - we tried to find places with berry bushes...

A special treat was a healthy coyote (not a coy-dog!) along the road.  We don't often see them....
