Hi all,
I observed one Snowy Owl at 4:39 this evening as it took off, circled high, and headed southwest towards Middle or Maquoit Bay. Interestingly enough, this was the same flight pattern Jeannette and I observed 10 days ago, leading us to wonder if the Brunswick Landing birds are - like many of our coastal Snowies - feeding on waterfowl.
Anyway, no Short-eared Owls were seen at dusk, although the wind was still whipping pretty good in the open.
