[Maine-birds] Additional Highlights This Week and Shorebird High Counts, 8/11-17

Hi all,

My observations of note over the past seven days included:
- 2 male White-winged Scoters and 1 immature male and 1 female Surf Scoter, Popham Beach State Park, Phippsburg, 8/5.
- 1 juvenile FORSTER'S TERN (FOY), Wharton Point, Brunswick, 8/6 (with Jeannette). 
- 43 Fish Crows, Windham Mall, North Windham, 8/7 (personal high count; state high count? Clearly this small colony has taken off this year! Could this now be the largest colony in Maine?). 
- 4-6+ Roseate Terns (getting late), Pine Point, Scarborough, 8/10 (with clients from Indiana). 

And my shorebird high counts this week were as follows:
Black-bellied Plover: 79, Wharton Point, Brunswick, 8/6 (with Jeannette).
Semipalmated Plover: 143, Pine Point, Scarborough, 8/8.
Spotted Sandpiper: 2, Popham Beach State Park, Phippsburg, 8/5.
Greater Yellowlegs: 5, Pine Point, 8/8.
"Eastern" Willet: 5, Pine Point, 8/8.
"WESTERN" WILLET (FOY): 1, Popham Beach State Park, 8/5.
Lesser Yellowlegs: 6, Dunstan Landing, Scarborough Marsh, 8/10 (with clients)
Ruddy Turnstone: 2, Pine Point, 8/8.
Sanderling: 20, Popham Beach State Park, 8/5.
Semipalmated Sandpiper: 1300, Pine Point, 8/8.
Least Sandpiper: 20, Eastern Road Trail, Scarborough Marsh, 8/10 (with clients).
White-rumped Sandpiper: 6, Pine Point, 8/8.
Short-billed Dowitcher: 47, Pine Point, 8/8.
