[Maine-birds] Barred owl hunting wild turkey?

About 10:25 this morning i noticed a BAOW  sitting in a tree at the edge of our yard. I went outside and took photos of him, and my wife did some work on the deck which is about 50 feet away.  He stayed there for about 45 minutes.  Than 15 minutes later he returned to another tree.   I got up to get my camera to go outside. I opened the door to see a adult WILD TURKEY  sitting on a branch next to where the BAOW was sitting.  The WITU flew down to a family of WITU  with young .  So could the BAOW be hunting turkeys to eat? Pretty clear to me that the WITU was protecting his young.

photos of the BAOW sitting in tree with two different cameras.  It was so humid the camera lens fogged up and had to wait for the camera to get up to temperature.

Happy birding
