[Maine-birds] South-bound migration intensifies at Flat Bay, Harrington - Red Knot and Long-billed Dowitcher

This morning's low tide in Flat Bay, Harrington, showed increasing numbers of shorebirds:

Over 2,900 Semipalmated Sandpipers,
150+ Least Sandpipers
328 Black-bellied Plover
5 Semipalmated Plover
12 Whimbrel
55 Short-billed Dowitcher

and two stars of the day - 1 Red Knot and 1 Long-billed Dowitcher

We had to use two locations to see everything - it was quite a spectacle this morning!

Anne Archie, Harrington
