[Maine-birds] Maine Audubon's Head Harbor Passage Tour this Saturday, 25 Aug

Just a quick note to let everyone know Maine Audubon's trip this Saturday to Head Harbor Passage out of Eastport still has several spots available. I've been co-leading Road Scholar tours DownEast with Woody Gillies the past two weeks and the shearwater show in Head Harbor Passage has been phenomenal with a few hundred Sooty, lesser numbers of Great, and one Manx last week. A late nesting season for alcids has made for more Common Murres and Razorbills than we've seen the last two years. Plus the whale show has been exceptional with Fin, Minke, and Humpbacks around in good numbers.

We're heading out again tomorrow morning and plan to spend more time going through the small gull flocks. We did find a Pacific Loon off Campobello, NB today (just around the corner from Head Harbor).

Hope to see you on Saturday!
