[Maine-birds] Blue Grosbeak, Purple Martin and the return of the Tropicbird - Seal Island NWR

Hi all,

Another great day on Seal Island! The day started out with a young male Blue Grosbeak, and many of the thrushes from yesterday were also around as well. A walk along the island shore also produced a Nelson's Sparrow. Upon returning to the camp a Purple Martin was resting on a rock over one of the brackish ponds. Shortly after I spotted the Tropicbird for the first time this year flying about before he entered his lair underneath a large boulder he is fond of. Many other new arrivals on the island today including a Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Eastern Kingbird, Northern Parula, Northern Waterthrush, and Orchard Oriole.
