After the Veery left yesterday having spent nearly 20 hours under my feeders over the course of 2 days, where I got to watch it feeding, preening, and dodging a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK attack, I have been graced with several more good birds in the yard. One more FOYard, a GRAY CATBIRD has decided to stake out a corner of my backyard. This did not sit well with the AMERICAN ROBINS that normally patrol that area. A FOY ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK and FOY male RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD made an appearance today. The female BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD spent some time at the feeders as well. RED-SHOULDERED and BROADWING HAWKS have also adorned the trees lately. All that and I am playing with my DIY parabolic mic for my iPhone which surprisingly works reasonably well! Prepping for spring warbler recordings!
Cheers!
Rob
