[Maine-birds] YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD continues, Freeport, 6/30pm

Hi all,

After a mid-day hiatus, the YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD in Freeport has returned and visitors are welcome.

The bird is to be viewed ONLY from the parking lot of Gritty McDuff's in Freeport, off of US Route One, a short distance south of downtown.  As you enter the parking lot, proceed towards the front entrance. The feeder is in front of low windows on the side of the apartment complex on your left - roughly opposite the front entrance.

Because of the proximity to parking lots and limited cover nearby, it is best to view the feeders from within your car. Searching for the bird would likely cause it to avoid coming into the feeder.

I just spoke with the General Manager of Gritty's, and he is very happy to allow folks to use his lot and was excited for people to have the opportunity to view it. However, this is a very busy business, and if visits can be made BEFORE 11:00am when they open, conflicts will be prevented. Before 11:00, a dozen or more cars can easily view the feeders. After 11:00? Good luck finding parking!

Many thanks for understanding and good luck!

-Derek
