[Maine-birds] Chickawuakee Lake on RTE 17

I scanned the lake for waterfowl this morning: In addition to the
usual flock of mallards, 200+ Canada Goose; 10 ruddy ducks; 2 greater
scaup; 3 lesser scaup; 6 buffleheads; 16 common goldeneye; 6
ring-necked ducks; 5 hooded mergansers; 3 common loons. 1 pied-billed
grebe; 1 great blue heron. Two adult eagles watching over the scene.
The flock of 60-70 American Coots persists daily near shoreline at
mid-lake; also 2 Carolina Wrens adjacent to the Rockland city limits
highway sign. Small groups of pine grosbeaks are currently being found
at numerous midcoastal sites.
