Finding Yellow-rumps along the Maine coast during the winter (Dec-Feb) is probably not huge news. Pockets seem to find the habitat to their liking in places like Vinalhaven, etc. usually associated with Bayberry, Juniper, or Poison Ivy. Still, finding 15 of these on Indian Point (Georgetown) yesterday by Wayne Robbins and me, seems noteworthy, even tho' the report might be ignored by eBird. I am usually able to keep track of small numbers of these at Popham Beach thru the winter, but not this year. These aren't the first I've seen at the tip of the Georgetown Peninsula during winter. Maybe it's a "winter haven" for these birds? Like Vinalhaven?
