[Maine-birds] N. Mockingbird and Hybrid Common Goldeneye X Hooded Merganser, SW Harbor

Just returned from a check of the inner harbor of SW Harbor, Mt. Desert Island with two birding friends.

Hooded Merganser X Common Goldeneye hybrid drake is back again and right on schedule. This marks 7 years running for this individual, always in December and always in this location. (see the link below for details)

Northern Mockingbird (1) seen well as it flew into a hedge near a feeding station, then flushed up to a high and visible perch. It flew into a neighboring property. Not a common sighting for MDI.

Tomorrow begins the Count Week for MDI's CBC, so I'll be checking back in as often as I can.

Full count list here: http://ebird.org/ebird/me/view/checklist?subID=S12268649

Best,
Craig K
