[Maine-birds] redpolls in south inity

hi everyone, just had a nice flock of redpolls here, and sat. had a sparrowhawk on the wire, also all the usuals,  my daughter who moved to the albany/troy new york area has a male cardinal that comes to the window almost everyday and pecks on the glass stays around  30 sec. then flies off,  the former owner said he had the cardinal for over a year there too. it comes rain or shine.  it goes to different windows too, any ideas whY?   diana in south unity
