[Maine-birds] Hadley Pt. on MDI - Surf Scoters and Red-necked Grebes

Hi all -- a late afternoon stop at Hadley Point on MDI (Salisbury Cove) yielded a few scope-able goodies. Far in the distance toward Thompson Island was a small raft of 9 Surf Scoters. Took me awhile with the ID until one helpfully showed me the back of his head. Toward Lamoine and close to shore (again, scope necessary), a large raft of young Common Eiders and a scattering of Red-necked Grebes (around 20?).

Hamilton Pond mostly vacant.

Best,
Craig K
