[Maine-birds] Juvenile Snowy Egret at Machias

Today we saw a juvenile Snowy Egret from the multi-purpose trail along the Machias River (the portion of the trail that takes off from Highway 1 at the dike).  The bird was in a snag and then later started feeding in the same pools that both Blue-winged and Green-winged Teals were in company with a large number of Black Ducks.   We did not see the Greater Egret.

We also saw at least 3 Merlins, adult Bald Eagle and an adult Northern Goshawk passed over.   Both species of yellowlegs were numerous among the usual flocks of Semi-palmated Sandpiper and Semi-palmated Plover.
