[Maine-birds] Shorebird Activity at Wharton Point

On Sunday evening on the incoming tide at Wharton Point in Brunswick, an active group of nearly 700 shorebirds totaling 12 species was noted.

Unusual for this location was a vocal Whimbrel making its presence known while flying around the marsh area for several minutes.

Also unusual were 5 Red Knots.  Only occasional single individuals have been noted here previously by this observer.
