[Maine-birds] Unity CBC preliminary reports

Highlights of the Unity CBC held on Saturday, December 20 included a Rough-legged Hawk photographed on Prairie Rd in Unity, 7 Common Redpolls in Troy, a Savannah Sparrow at Unity College and a large congregation of eagles and gulls at the compost mounds at Knox Ridge on Rt 220 just north of Rt 137.  Although only Herring Gulls were recorded on count day, Lesser-Black-backed, Iceland, Great Black-backed and Glaucous Gull were all present today at the compost.

Many teams have not reported in yet, so the species list should increase.

Good birding,
tom
