Hey everyone:

I'm sorry if I'm stepping on someone's toes by posting this but if you've read Massbird lately then you'll appreciate the crossposting.

A PINK-FOOTED GOOSE was apparently photographed on December 20th in Damariscotta by Nicole Graffam. This was shared on the MAINE Birds Facebook group earlier today: http://tinyurl.com/ld8g372

Hopefully more information will surface but I'd recommend birders check fields around Salt Bay. There was a bizarre (late) record from Great Salt Bay Farm Wildlife Preserve (http://ebird.org/ebird/hotspot/L1565544) on 25 May 2013. Also, reviewing local places that Canada Geese have been reported could help narrow down your search: http://tinyurl.com/ovf3bku

This would represent the 8th Pink-footed Goose report for Maine (http://tinyurl.com/nn3brqland I strongly encourage any observers to please submit a report to the Maine Bird Records Committee. Information on submitting sightings can be found at: https://sites.google.com/site/mainebirdrecordscommittee/rare-bird-report-form
