Weather:
A scorcher at Bradbury with few clouds, and temperatures rising into the mid-eighties (28 C). Winds were primarily light and variable ending with SW by late afternoon. Even stray clouds were rare, until the late afternoon when winds began to pick up. It was a hot one!!
Raptor Observations:
There were 20 migrants that passed by The Brad today. The majority of the migrant raptors were spotted at the very beginning of the count and around 2 pm EST when winds shifted.
Non-raptor Observations:
Other migrants included: Blue Jay 30 Tree Swallow 6 Barn Swallow 4 American Goldfinch 4 Solitary Sandpiper 3 Yellow-rumped Warbler 2 Double-crested Cormorant 1 Green Darner (dragonfly) 1
Predictions:
Tomorrow will be cooler than today, winds are predicted to be east changing to northeast. Clouds will be more common tomorrow than they've been in several days at Bradbury. As the count period enters it's final week we expect to see groups of young Broad-winged Hawks, and of course there is always a possibility of seeing rare birds during the last week!
