Found three (possibly four) talkative (calls and songs) Bicknell's Thrushes this morning on the ridge pointing west (toward Avery Peak) from Little Bigelow Peak. Following the AT west from the peak, one is playing cat and mouse with the 3K contour. Several rock-scramble ups and downs, and plenty Krumholz (Spruce and subalpine fir.) My first success here after 2 previous tries.
Began hike up at 4:30 AM, reached summit at 7:15. Then a leisurely 2 hours birding the ridge. Singing Bicknell's not encountered until 8:30 or so. No photos, but managed to record (video) some sounds.
Over-all, a quiet morning, considering the perfect weather, etc. Zero vireos, zero singing YBFlies, zero Boreal Chickadees.
