The Clapper Rail first found on September 20th made a brief appearance on the far side of Jones Creek today around 3:40pm. From the parking lot overlooking the creek, the bird was seen around the middle of the far shore. To the left of this area there is some grass that has been pushed down. The rail came to the edge of the grass, stayed motionless for several seconds and then retreated. I stayed at the creek for an additional hour but the rail did not reemerge.
