The Hog Island Audubon Fall migration session spent Wed and Thursday on Monhegan. Lots of birds to enjoy. We saw 20 species of warbler, nothing rare.
Highlights included:
j Yellow-crowned Night-Heron above Ice Pond,
1-2 flyover Dickcissels,
1 Clay-colored Sparrow near Hitchcox house,
1 brown Blue Grosbeak,
1 Gray-cheeked Thrush,
lots of Merlins and Sharp-shins, plus one j Cooper's Hawk (scarce on the island)
Lots of wonderful views of so many birds.
No Yellow-headed Blackbird.
Best,
Peter
