While at Popham yesterday afternoon around high tide (had guests earlier in the day so was not able to get out earlier), I saw what I thought was initially a pair of Piping Plovers due to the lightness of the color but wrote them off as lighter Semipalmated's after closer inspection. The only other birds of note was that the Mike and Fyn's Sanderlings came over to Popham side between the Morse River and Fox Island for a visit along with another Dunlin, and a Laughing Gull that was hanging out just off the beach. While walking from Fox I. to Wood I., the Sanderlings reappeared without the Dunlin. Boy was it ever foggy. Not much else to see there as a result.

In addition to the golden plovers under attack by a juvie Peregrine, reported earlier, Fyn and I also together or separately, found a late pair of Piping Plovers, an adult Lesser Black-Backed Gull, 1 or 2 Baird's Sandpipers. The only Sanderlings, were ca 48 glimpsed on the Seawall Side of the river.
