[Maine-birds] Black-throated Sparrow

1/1/16
A Black-throated Sparrow was found in Winter Harbor during the Schoodic Point CBC this morning (Ed Hawks/Chuck Whitney party). A male, field guide illustration perfect, no identification problem. From Rt. 1 go down Rt. 186. When the road ends at Winter Harbor turn left. A couple of hundred yards look for Hillcrest Drive on your left at the top of a little rise. Go straight down Hillcrest until you see a large green lobster boat, the Adventurer, beside the road on your right. The bird was seen several times along the roadside for the next 50 yards or so. The bird was seldom more than 4 ft. off the ground. It was not seen during a search at 1 p.m. No photos have been taken.
