[Maine-birds] Brunswick: Short-eared Owls 1/8...

Hi all,

Several other birders and I watched in awe as 2 Short-eared Owls (and
a possible 3rd) hunted over the Bowdoin Sand Plain and Brunswick
airport fields on Friday afternoon. The owls were busy hunting when I
arrived at 3pm and were in view until dusk.

I've posted details on eBird
[http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S26784137], but here is
some location information, for those unfamiliar with the area.

I parked at the corner of Pine St. and Abijah St. in Brunswick near
the cemetery, walked east along the Perimeter Road to the airport
fence line, then south along the fence line to the Bowdoin Sand Plain,
a total distance of 0.5 miles from my car.

I hope this helps. Please be respectful of these owls and give them
space to hunt without harassment. Good luck!
