Hi everyone,
My bird highlight of a New Year's Day hike around the Schoodic Point area was finding an immature White-crowned Sparrow. The bird was first spotted on the north side of Schoodic Loop Rd about 0.15 mi east of where it hits Arey Cove Rd. After briefly posing on one of the many large rocks that border the road, it flew off to the southwest, landing somewhere along the northwest shoreline of Arey Cove. It might've been loosely associating with a small flock of Juncos (which were periodically feeding on the roadsides of Arey Cove Rd), but I wasn't 100% sure.
