> Weather:
> Today was a windy and sunny one at Bradbury Mountain. Northwest winds were
> strong enough to keep most birds from migrating today. Temperatures in the
> forties were keeping it chilly along with the wind gusts up to 30 mph, but
> the sun was out all day!
>
> Raptor Observations:
> We recorded 15 migrants at the summit today. A close fly by of a juvenile
> Merlin later in the day was a nice treat.
>
> Non-raptor Observations:
> 26 species were observed at the summit today. Migrants included:
>
> Tree Swallow 15
> American Goldfinch 3
> Yellow-rumped Warbler 2
> Palm Warbler 1
> Sandhill Crane 1
> Northern Flicker 1
> Great Blue Heron 1
>
> Predictions:
> Tomorrow's weather is predicted to be overcast with NW winds from 10-15
> mph. It should be a good day up on the mountain, and if winds stay light we
> should see birds migrating. This weekend at Bradbury Mountain a local
> birding event Feathers Over Freeport will be happening, visit
> www.maine.gov/feathersoverfreeport for a full schedule of events including
> a free hawk watch workshop and live raptor presentations. Bring your
> binoculars and I'll see you at the summit!
