[Maine-birds] Sears Island

Sears Island has been on my list of places to bird and I finally had time today to head over. Worth the trip!
We had 15 warbler species on the island plus one more just after we crossed the causeway on the way home (yellow).

We had blackburnian, chestnut sided (lots), black and white, yellow rumped, ovenbird, Canada, Magnolia, Wilson's, Nashville, N. Parula, black throated green, black throated blue, c. yellowthroat, redstart, female pine warbler gathering nesting material. We missed a bay breasted that others had seen.

Also seen or heard: blue headed vireos, winter wren, white throated sparrow, brown creeper, veery, a drumming grouse, and least flycatcher who obligingly che-bunked so I could ID him. Purple finches, goldfinches, and chickadees. A long tail duck posed for photos and a loon snacked on crab. Good trip to the coast.
