[Maine-birds] Crazy numbers of Caspian Terns

Not sure if it constitutes a fall out, but some combination of wind, weather and migration made for a very unusual April afternoon along the Seacoast with Caspian Terns roosting on beaches in big numbers in NH and York County. I personally saw 6 at Ogunquit Beach (found by David Nelson), 9 at Hills Beach, and one at Parsons Beach in Kennebunk (found by Chris Duffy), and it looks like there were more in Biddeford Pool at Hattie's, and undoubtedly elsewhere. There were also a number of reports in NH including 11 at Rye Harbor. Its worth checking large gull aggregation points tomorrow for more. I'd be shocked if there weren't a few at Pine Point right now. A fun afternoon out, despite the crap weather.
