An amazing show last night as we watched an adult Bald Eagle and an Osprey tangle with each other and then dive bomb towards the water here in Harpswell. It was only when we looked down that we saw 6 anxious adult Eiders, and many seconds later there were also10 tiny, tiny babies who had made a dive underwater to avoid being eaten. The eagle and osprey returned a second time about a minute later and sure enough, the babies responded to the parents by diving underwater again. Miraculously there were still 10 babies left after the raptors flew away. This morning there are still 10 babies and 6 parents alive and well swimming in the cove. Amazing Nature Moment.
