[Maine-birds] Monarch observation, not birds

In Rockport, on a potted tropical milkweed plant ( that was overwintered inside) on our terrace, a monarch butterfly laid a few eggs today, June 27. Anyone know about the timing of monarch returns to Maine? Is this early or about right?
