I had two other better birders with me who were certain this is a Bufflehead. We had great views but much trouble taking a photo because the bird was feeding, and far away.
Isn't this an unusual time of year for this bird in this place?

There were also Laughing Gulls, a D.C. Cormorant on the Roque Bluffs State Park freshwater pond.
A Tree Swallow swooping over the road. Lots of Red Wing Blackbirds and Song Sparrows, a Catbird.
An Osprey came racing down the sulphur creek into Englishman's Bay at the Cow Point road and dove to pick up what looked like a mass of pond-weeds. It flew off with the weeds, or whatever it was.
Mammals included Porcupine, Red Fox and Seals.
Carol, not in Town Hill this weekend
