[Maine-birds] Crocker Mt - Bicknell's - Jun 22

There's no Krumholz on Crocker Mt., at least not off the AT climbing up from Rt 27/16.
I don't recommend this hike for Bicknell's Thrush with an early morning start.  Takes too long to get up there into thick spruce habitat.  Perhaps a camp-out near the summit would work well.  That way you'd get both dusk and dawn singers.

Having said all that, one (or two) birds were singing infrequently at 8:07 AM today.  This was ca 1/4 mile below the summit.  The song came from two diff locations, but it's possible the bird moved between singing bouts.   Probably a single bird.

Of all the various Mts I've climbed looking for Bicknell's, this climb was the LEAST birdy on the way up.  Notably low numbers of Swainson's Thrush, YB Fly, Blackpolls, even the White-throats were silent!  Maybe it's the heat.
