A WHITE-EYED VIREO was found singing at Laudholm Farm in Wells on the 21st. It was heard from the intersection of the Pilger and Barrier Beach trails.
Continuing from the 17th, at least one of the three LITTLE GULLS continues to be seen near Lords Point in Kennebunk.
A CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR, only the second recorded in Maine, was found in Biddeford Pool this week. The bird was found near the east tip of East Point Sanctuary on the 22nd and continues to be seen foraging along the path in this area.
Greater Portland
Both the TRICOLORED HERON and WHITE-FACED IBIS continue to be reported from the Scarborough Marsh, typically from the Eastern Trail.
Two SANDHILL CRANES were seen throughout the week in the plowed fields on the west side of Route 26A in Gray.
Midcoast
A FORK-TAILED FLYCATCHER was found along the north end of Pennellville Road in Brunswick on the 22nd. Typical of this species in Maine, it was not relocated after the first day.
Downeast
Four AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHERS were at Petit Manan NWR on the 19th.
Western Mountains
At least one BICKNELL'S THRUSH was found on Crocker Mountain on the 22nd.
Northern Maine
Highlights from Baxter State Park earlier this week include: BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER, FOX SPARROWS, EVENING GROSBEAKS and RED CROSSBILLS.
