[Maine-birds] American Bittern - Anson

A pair of American bitterns appear to be nesting near an uncut hay field close to my house. Yesterday I noticed one bird on the edge of the field and was able to get quite a bit of video of him displaying. I rarely see one this worked up and he must have been defending his turf against another bird. Here's some video: http://youtu.be/TWTmvSS0iOs?hd=1

 

There is still quite a bit of bird song in the area as well. Eastern Wood-Pewee are quite common around here this year. http://youtu.be/4Acdtjiulpw?hd=1
