[Maine-birds] This Week's Highlights, 6/16-21

Hi all,
 
Just a few sightings of note from the past six days were as follows:
 
- Black-backed Woodpecker, Boreal Chickadee, Cape May Warbler, Mourning Warbler, etc during my "Claybrook Mountain Lodge Birding Weekend" in Highland Plantation, 6/15-17.  A complete trip list and summary is here: http://maineoutdoorjournal.mainetoday.com/blogentry.html?id=105757.
- 1 pair SANDHILL CRANES with colt, 15+ Black Terns, and 8++ Purple Martins, Messalonskee Lake, 6/17.
- 20 Marsh Wrens and 2-3 Virginia Rails, Great Pond, Cape Elizabeth, 6/18 (with Luke Seitz).
 
And my blog today includes and update of the ongoing Sandy Point negotiations.  In summary, I am making progress in reaching a management agreement and mitigation plan for the damage that was done in March.  Read about it here:
