[Maine-birds] NW Maine sightings

Spend the weekend in the woods North and West of Eustis doing point counts for Mountain Birdwatch at White Cap Pond. Also hiked White Cap, Kennebago Divide, and Mt Snow (Cupsuptic). Fantastic weekend with some good birds. Highlights included singing Fox Sparrows on all three mountains, a calling Bicknell's Thrush on Mt. Snow, a drumming and calling Black-backed Woodpecker on Kennebago Divide, and a pair of Rusty Blackbirds at White Cap Pond. Blackpoll warblers everywhere and a good looks at Bay-breasted and Blackburnian warblers near White Cap Pond. Noticed a number of Pine Siskins in pairs along the trails and flying over. Ruffed Grouse all over the place, including several family groups. 44 species total, 15 of which were warblers! Species list below. Cheers,

Shiloh
