No peregrines this morning. Instead a Merlin made three passes over the gathering flock of peeps, at inopportune times. Despite the drizzle, managed to get a few diagnostic shots of a golden plover, in mid-moult apparently, but enough to ascertain it was an American, not a Pacific or Euro.
Otherwise, as Doug reported a few days ago, the peep flock is more and more hesitant to spend high tide roosting on New Sand Island, and instead may be seen massing on offshore rocks.--
