On Norm Famous' tip visited Flood Farm in Clinton on 11/16.
In the stubble fields directly behind the main compound of cowsheds and manure ponds, there were thousands of snow buntings, in chattering, shifting flocks, a spectacle I have not experienced in Maine. There were many horned larks mixed in, though snow buntings outnumbered these by a ratio of at least 10:1. Would guess 2500 buntings, though probably many more. White winged gulls, iceland and glaucous, all 1st year, easy to find around the farm buildiings.
