[Maine-birds] Owls lately

Maybe it's because I've been obsessed with owls lately, but in the past 3 days a lot of owl activity has manifested itself:

- I photo'd a Barred Owl on a wire in broad daylight in Phippsburg this afternoon.  Usually this might happen in February when tons of snow covers the ground in the woods, forcing them to hunt the road edges.
- Ran into two friends yesterday and today who had tales of owl encounters last 2 nights (most likely Barred Owls).
- The dead Barred Owl found roadside in Lincoln yesterday
- The first Snowy Owl of the Fall, found today off Biddeford Pool
-  Of course the visit by a No. Hawk Owl in Lincoln

all of these reports after a spell of no owl reports.  Could this be related to the Beaver Moon perchance? Coupled with clear nights?
