[Maine-birds] Long-Eared Owl?

Last fall I had a Long-Eared Owl at home.  I only found it once despite frequent looking and listening after that night.  I do have a pair of Barred Owls in the neighborhood, and I see or hear one of them almost daily at my home (likes to roost right next to my driveway).  Last night, however, in addition to hearing the Barred Owl, I believe I also heard a Long-Eared Owl again.  I didn't see it, but the bird was fairly close and I was able to hear its relatively distinct call of several singular hoots (not "wails" or varying in pitch like you might expect a Barred to make), each spaced apart by a few seconds.  Not enough evidence to guarantee it was a Long-Eared Owl, but having had one a few months ago I wouldn't be surprised if this is a visitor who may have a nest somewhere else in the neighborhood.
