Migration Bird Banding by BRI (Biodiversity Research Institute) has begun at River Point in West Falmouth. Early season migrants banded include Hermit Thrush, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Palm Warbler, and White-throated Sparrow. Birds heard today that did not make it into the nets included a Vesper Sparrow and a Louisiana Waterthrush.
The banding station welcomes visitors. Banding occurs in the morning, Tuesday through Saturday, weather permitting. Plus there are great trails to walk on this former farm which borders the Presumpscot River.
