Not quite the morning promised to me by NOAA. But Gordon and David were both right. Kayaked up the river from the launch at 201, where the water level scale on the abutment indicates the level was a full 1 foot lower then the day the EurWigeon was first reported. The pool on the meadow under Bisson's was much smaller, as a consequence.
And there were fewer ducks. No Wigeon, of any stripe, and only ca 24 GWTeal. As for shorebirds, 3 LYLegs, 2 Killdeers, 10 (only) W Snipe, and 2 GYLegs. Raptors included Osprey, No. Harrier, Kestrels (3), and a female Cooper's Hawk flying directly over my bow. Also TV and Bgl. Passerines along the shrubbery were particularly dear.
